Privacy policy
LeakLeaders ("LeakLeaders," "we") runs a referral service: plumbers who find water damage refer the job, with the homeowner's consent, to a vetted water-mitigation company. This policy covers leakleaders.com, app.leakleaders.com, the LeakLeaders apps, and the texts, calls and emails we send. It explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
What we collect
From plumbers
- Your name, mobile number, email address and password (stored only in scrambled form), and the plumbing company you work for.
- Where you usually work (a home base and radius), and your phone's location when you send a lead, so we can place the job.
- The leads you send: video and photos of the damage, the property address, job details, and the homeowner's name and number.
- Payout details. Bank account and tax information are collected and held by our payment processor, Stripe; we don't store full bank or Social Security numbers.
From restoration companies
- Business details, licenses, insurance documents, references, service area, working hours and availability.
- Names, emails and mobile numbers of the people on your team, including who should get new-lead alerts.
- Your payment card, which Stripe holds; we see only the brand and last four digits.
About homeowners
- The name, mobile number and property address the plumber enters, and the video and photos the plumber takes of the damage.
- A record of your consent: when and how you agreed (a tap on the plumber's phone, a YES by text, or a web link), the exact wording you saw, and the plumber who asked.
- Your replies to our texts, such as whether the company arrived, a rating, or STOP.
Automatically
- Device and log information (such as IP address, browser or app version, and pages used), push-notification tokens, and cookies needed to keep you signed in.
How we use it
- To run the service: send a lead to nearby companies, let one accept it, connect the homeowner with that company, and keep everyone updated.
- To send texts, calls, push notifications and emails about leads, jobs, accounts, payments and sign-in codes.
- To charge companies for accepted leads and pay plumbers their commissions.
- To vet companies, keep the service safe, and prevent fraud, duplicate leads and abuse.
- To provide support, meet legal and tax obligations, and improve the service.
How we share it
- Homeowner details go to one company. Before a company accepts, it sees only the general area, the size of the job and the plumber's video and photos, never the homeowner's name, number or street address. Those are shared only with the one company that accepts the job, and with the plumber who referred it.
- Service providers that run parts of LeakLeaders for us, under contracts that limit how they use your data: hosting and databases, payments (Stripe), text messages and calls (Twilio), email, push notifications, maps and file storage.
- Legal reasons: when the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or to enforce our terms. If LeakLeaders is sold or merged, the buyer would keep this policy's promises.
We do not sell personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.
How long we keep it
- Lead video and photos: 24 months, then deleted, unless a dispute about the job is still open.
- Consent records: 5 years, so we can show that a homeowner agreed.
- Payment and tax records: as long as the law requires.
- Account details: while your account is open, and then as needed for the records above.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Lead video and photos are kept in private storage and shown only through short-lived links to people allowed to see them. Access inside LeakLeaders is limited to people who need it to run the service.
Your choices
- Texts: reply STOP to any text to stop them, or HELP for help. See our SMS terms.
- Your account: plumbers and company users can change their name, email, password and mobile number in the app under Settings → My account.
- Access, correction and deletion: anyone, including homeowners, can ask to see, correct, get a copy of, or delete their personal information by emailing support@leakleaders.com. We'll answer within 45 days. Some records, such as consent and payment records, may need to be kept for the periods above.
Children
LeakLeaders is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let account holders know before the change takes effect.
